What does a typical #afterworkbikerides tour actually look like?
Since we had two "rookies" join us yesterday, we first had to see how the newcomers were doing.
After a long, relaxed uphill — with plenty of time to chat and exchange — we got to know each other a bit better. Then came the first descent, which is usually when you really see how people ride. The others were already familiar faces.
Juriy and Patrick’s skills were spot-on 👌, so we were able to throw in some delicious trail highlights.
After that, we asked ourselves whether to add a short extra loop — and the group voted yes. As always, a few pics 📸 were taken along the way.
Around 8:15 PM, we all regrouped at the Mining Museum in Rumelange, where we enjoyed a cold #afterworkbikerides Battin beer together.
Unfortunately, not everyone could stay, but a few of us wrapped up the evening on the terrace of the restaurant next to the museum ⚒.

Riding into the sunset in warm summer temperatures — and afterwards, a well-deserved, cold #afterworkbikeride Battin beer.
But what exactly are #afterworkbikerides?
These guided tours through the Land of the red soil are all about fun and social connection.
And what do Level 1, 2, or 3 mean?
Level 1 is for casual riders. The routes follow wider forest paths or trails that are even suitable for gravel bikes.
Level 2 is a bit more diverse. It’s aimed at mountain bikers who are confident on their bikes and have some riding experience. The tour is always adapted to the group’s level — taking into account technical skills, endurance, and speed.
Level 3 is our enduro version. These rides involve a certain level of risk and require solid technical skills. A full-face helmet, chest protector, and elbow/knee pads are often recommended.
But no matter whether you’re riding Level 1, 2, or 3 — you’ll always learn something new.

Luckily, the heat ☀️☀️☀️ backed off just a little yesterday — but it was still blazing 🚀🚀🚀 out on the dusty trails around Dudetown.
Sticking to our motto, "In dust we trust," we charged into the dry terrain, digging in our tires and chasing that elusive grip.
The rain from the night before?
Barely made a dent — just a drop 💧 on a sizzling 🔥 stone.
After a rollercoaster ride of roughly 25 km and 650 meters of elevation, we ended the evening on a high note: cold Battin beers 🍻🫅🍻, good vibes, and tasty food @ Gigi di l'amoroso.
Already hyped for the next social ride!
Oh, and we’re cooking up the next spin-off — where should we go?
Trailpark Mehring?
Flow over sandstone?
Rip through slate?
Tell us what gets your wheels spinning!

During our tour yesterday, the participants really got involved right from the start.
Due to the heavy storm and bad weather⛈⛈⛈ last weekend, several trees had fallen and were blocking the trails. 🪵🪵🪵
Since Boris was carrying a small saw🪚, we were able to clear one of the paths and thus lend the forest ranger a helping hand. 🤝
The weather showed itself from its best side again☀️☀️☀️ so we all decided to extend the tour a bit and include some additional trails.
After the tour, we were quite hungry, so we spontaneously decided to find a terrace to grab a bite to eat.
Just around the corner, we checked in at the restaurant MIAZIA. 🍕

Sometimes, just a little bit of luck is enough to be happy...
The weather forecast beforehand wasn’t promising, and everyone kept wondering: will it rain or not?
But let’s take it one step at a time.
When we arrived at the meeting point, the question was: will anyone even show up?
Familiar faces and a newcomer had gathered at the starting point near the mining museum, Musée national des mines de fer in Rumelange.⚒
We were also lucky enough to grab a table right away at the museum’s restaurant.
At the start, the group had to find its rhythm since we had both e-bikes🦿 and regular bikes🦵 — but that didn’t cause any issues at all.
Michel, our “newcomer,” blended in effortlessly with the group and quickly stood out thanks to his riding skills and endurance. He even discovered quite a few trails he hadn’t ridden before — so there were plenty of new trail-surprises and a constant grin on his face.🤩
We got to explore the beautiful landscape of the Haard Nature Reserve in Dudelange.
After nearly two hours and back at the car, it happened just as expected... the rain arrived. 🌧
But it didn’t matter to us — we had a spot waiting for us in the restaurant.🍽
To round it all off: Ee gudden Appetit!

Haard Enduro – The Name Says It All!
Who doesn't know the Haard Nature Reserve in Dudelange?
Normally, you wouldn’t associate a nature reserve with mountain bike trails – but you absolutely should!
Right in the heart of the reserve, you'll find some of the best MTB trails in Luxembourg.
There are the red 🔴 and black ⚫️ official trails from #VisitMinett, which already offer a lot of action.
But there are also a number of lesser-known trails that are just insanely fun – and we pretty much rode (almost) all of them yesterday. 🤘
The result?
Every single one of us had a permanent grin on our faces! 😎
And that’s exactly what the #AfterWorkBikeRides are all about.
Another key goal is to help participants gradually push their limits, steadily build their skills, and feel more confident and safe on the bike. 💪💪💪
Of course, it’s normal to pick up a scratch or two along the way, but everyone decides for themselves what they want to ride or try out. Sometimes you take the chicken line, or just get off and push your bike for a few meters – and that’s totally fine!
We always take a close look at tricky sections in advance, discuss the best line to take, and then work through it step by step – always in a safe and supportive way.
Enjoy the clips – and if this makes you want to join us on a ride, we’d be absolutely thrilled to have you along!

On Thursday, we were finally able to enjoy our #afterworkbikeride again under sunny and very pleasant weather conditions — unlike last time, when we were out in very, very wet conditions... (Which is why there was no "race report" then.)
However, we weren’t completely spared from mechanical issues: Lex had to patch his tire using three "salamis" (plugs). Fortunately, we made it through without further problems afterward.
Since the participants were all quite familiar with each other, we decided together on the route, which ended up being more flowy and packed with trails.
After the ride, we spontaneously decided to grab a delicious pizza in Schifflingen at Chez Toni.
