Dear Athletes,
You love running and enjoy the occasional mountain bike ride?
Why not combine both! Join our X-Duathlon and experience a whole new challenge.
What is an X-Duathlon?
A duathlon combines running and cycling – but the X-Duathlon takes it off-road, mixing trail running with mountain biking.
Our X-Duathlon starts at Lycée Belval with a 21.2 km MTB ride leading to the Minett-Park, where participants step back in time and can even see real steam locomotives still on site.
From there, a 9.6 km trail run takes you through the Giele Botter nature reserve, offering panoramic views over the former open-pit mining area.
Finally, a last MTB section of 18.2 km brings everyone back to the finish line at Lycée Belval.
Other option:
Maybe you love running, but your buddy prefers cycling? Perfect! Sign up as a team — one runs, the other rides.
Got a running group and a cycling group at work… but they never do anything together? Time to fix that!
Register as a 2- or 3-person team:
- The first rider starts on the bike
- The second takes over for the run
- The third rides back to the start in Belval
Team spirit is key — and fun comes first!
Please note:
We do not provide shuttles to the transition zone. Why? Because it’s always best to have warm or spare clothes handy — plus, your teammate can wait comfortably in the car until it’s their turn.
